$35M Capital Campaign Goal is reached as new youth arts center nears completion
(Madison, Wisconsin) Madison Youth Arts (MYARTS) is thrilled to announce they have succeeded in reaching their $35M capital campaign goal, almost three years from the launch of the campaign in September 2018. The funds raised will pay for the construction costs of the building ($29M), provide a $1M capital endowment, and finance a $5M Access Fund to ensure the facility remains affordable to community groups and the anchor partners. This successful campaign also means the Center will begin operations debt-free.
Major donors to the capital campaign included visionary philanthropist Pleasant Rowland, who seeded the project with a $20M legacy gift in fall 2018 and a $6.8M gift from Jerome Frautschi. In addition to these legacy gifts, 470 donors contributed to the campaign with individual gifts ranging from $10 to $2M. All support for the project came from private funds.
